Rainbow Information and Consulting Co. Ltd. (RIC) is a social enterprise set up by Rainbow Missions in China. The five shareholders of the company are core members of Rainbow Missions. They include the two founders of Rainbow Missions, the two founders of Hong Kong Rainbow Missions and the chief executive officer of the company. The philosophies and the core values of the company align with Rainbow Missions.
RIC was registered in 2010 in Nanning. At this stage, the registered capital is RMB 430,000. The money came from the personal offerings of the 5 shareholders. Nowadays there is no registration of social enterprises in China. RIC can only register as a for-profit business company. Although it is a for-profit company, the shareholders agree in consensus that the company is operated as a social enterprise. We will take care of the underprivileged in China, especially those who are disabled. When the company makes net profit one day, some of the profit will be kept as operation reserve, and the rest will be used in helping people with disabilities by conducting free vocational training or sponsoring children for their education and rehab.
Currently there are five staff members in RIC. They are the CEO, mid-level management, program coordinator, a finance staff person and an administrator. RIC also hires contractors to teach and provide professional training. The businesses that RIC are running include: management consultation, overseas study consultation and assistance, English training for people planning to go overseas, English training for business persons, cultural exchange services between the U.S. and China, counseling training, marriage and dating seminars, skills for living training, computer training for the blind, and translator training for the blind.
RIC currently is hiring native English speakers to teach English in China. We also need short term or long term instructors on counseling, vocational training, vocational counseling, and all types of training that can benefit people with disabilities. RIC is willing to partner in business with companies, social enterprises and individuals in any part of the world who have the heart for individuals with disabilities in China. Together we can offer our efforts so that people with disabilities can see the light of hope in their lives. They have special skills with them to contribute to society.
