A young woman suffering from a major depressive disorder shut
herself in the house in a little town in China. Her family members
and neighbors did not understand her illness and thought that
she was crazy. If this woman could have been reached with professional
counseling, her quality of life would be immeasurably helped as
depression is very responsive to treatment. The Rainbow Counseling
Ministry provides counseling to those in China who cannot
access mental health care.
Rainbow Counseling Ministry focuses on the needs of the heart
as an integral part of wholistic health — mind, body
and soul.

Current ongoing work under Rainbow Counseling Ministry:
Counseling Training
Counseling is a relatively new concept in China. Rainbow Counseling
Ministry brings in counseling experts from outside of China to provide
training for students and workers who are actually in the field.
So far, we have been training students in Chongqing Normal University
and the teachers in their Children Development Center, and also
the teachers in Chongqing School for the Blind.
Counseling Individuals
Individuals have difficulty accessing counseling resources in
China. They either live in areas where counseling is not readily
available or they cannot afford counseling. After assessing their
needs, Rainbow Counseling Ministry provides them with counseling
over the phone.
