Short Term Service Trips
Each year Rainbow Missions organizes trips to China to serve
the less fortunate and under privileged. Past participants enjoyed
the trip thoroughly and considered it as a life-changing experience
for them. They got involved in teaching the visually impaired
students arts and crafts, music, English language and social studies.
They celebrated Christmas with the cognitively impaired students,
their parents and their teachers. They brought the students out
to the zoo.
They went shopping
with students who seldom get to go out because they are visually
impaired. Some other participants lectured in the universities
on special education, occupational therapy or assistive technology
and counseling skills. Besides, everybody get to enjoy a wide
variety of Chinese food!
Sounds interesting? Our next STST trip will be held on December
17-31, 2009.
We are looking for Christians who enjoy working with children
and youth who may be visually or cognitively impaired; or, Christian
professionals with skills in education/special education, assistive
technology, occupational therapy, or counseling.
