On my first service trip overseas, I was asked to do many things that I had never done before. Some of the challenges included: preparing talks to share with students and teachers at the university - using PowerPoint presentations which I didn't know how to do, learning some Mandarin which I don't speak, writing a support letter and raising money to help pay for this journey, dress up and play the role of Santa Claus for 2 Christmas pageants.... By committing all of these to Jesus, I was overwhelmed by His faithfulness like never before. This trip reinforced what we had learned earlier in our preparation. "God's invitation for you to work with Him always leads you to a crisis of belief that requires faith and action. We also must make adjustments in our lives to join God in what He is doing." To experience His goodness in so many ways in such a short period of time was truly amazing and those memories will stay with me for a long time!
